I have been a psychotherapist in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1996, and have had a private practice in Marin County since 2006. Prior to my Private Practice, I worked for non-profit agencies, schools, residential & outpatient programs for substance abuse treatment, and for agencies supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, (EMDR) and am an EMDRIA Approved Clinical consultant. I have been providing EMDR and Internal Family Systems since 2013, as well as EMDR and trauma-informed IFS Consultation since 2020. In the past, the focus of my work was on substance abuse and addiction prevention and treatment; working with children and teenagers; family therapy, and trauma treatment. Since 2020, I have been pivoting to work primarily with older teens and adults who want to shift long patterns in their behaviors and relationships. It is rare that I work with someone who has not been touched by some form of trauma, and my clients have greatly benefitted from learning how traumatic experiences affect them in their relationships, in their work, and in their everyday lives.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a director of Programs for people with disabilities and underserved populations encouraging young people to realize their strengths while living with a disability, poverty and coming from marginalized, refugee and immigrant communities. I am committed to working with and supporting people of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities.

Working With Me
Getting started in therapy:
Beginning psychotherapy is an important step and commitment to self-healing. When you make this investment in yourself, you are choosing to take important action toward self-care in a consistent way. For those who have Complex trauma histories, weekly therapy is strongly encouraged. Regular sessions are 50 minutes, although longer sessions may be scheduled for EMDR or IFS as needed. Most people experience deeper shifts and desired results when they make therapy a priority in their lives.
Cancellation Policy:
If you cannot make your appointment I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If we are not able to reschedule within the same week and I do not get the 48 hour advance notice, you will be responsible for paying for the full session. If you are not able to attend your appointment in person we can switch to Zoom. Because my schedule is usually full I often cannot accommodate late schedule changes.
Rates:
My fee is $225 for a 50-minute session. Cash, checks, credit cards, or Zelle are accepted for payment. Please note that I do not accept insurance. If you would like to submit a statement to your insurance for reimbursement I will provide a statement for you. Depending on your insurance carrier, you may be able to collect full or partial reimbursement.
